CHAPTER 10 (Shopping)

New words:
thwa
= this one
wa = that one
me-gu = another one

jiu = is OK (used when expressing agreement, rhymes with few)
ma-jiu = is not OK (opposite of jiu)

1. Wa chha-kah swa-ye. Let me see that one.

swa-ye = [let me] see (in actual speech, pronounced sway)

2. Thwa ma-jiu. This one is not OK.

3. Me-gu ke-naa di-san. Please show me another one.

4. Thwa jiu. This one is OK.

5. Thu-ki-yaa gu-li dhe-baa? How much does this cost? [Literally: How much money for this?]

thu-ki-yaa = for this
gu-li = how much
dhe-baa = money

6. Ta-sa-kan thi-ke ju-la. That's very expensive.

ta-sa-kan = very
thi-ke = expensive
ju-la = is (literally: happened, became, occurred)

7. Bha-chaa paa yaa-naa di-san. Please make it a little less.

bha-chaa = a little
paa = less
yaa-naa di-san = please do

8. Haa-ku-gu bi-yaa di-san. Please give me the black one.

haa-ku-gu = black
bi-yaa di-san = please give

10. Ji li-paa wa-ye. I will come later.

li-paa = later
wa-ye = [I will] come (in colloquial speech, pronounced as way)
