Children find it fun to be at Bhuikhel Community Centre

The 25th April and 12th May earthquake in Nepal left many children out under the sky. They were traumatized and not able to go to their schools. #GUTHI, a non-government organization, with the support of #INCLUDED operated #ASP (After School Program) classes for children in #Bhuikhel, Swoyambhu.

Till date around 40 students have been attending the classes. This class has benefitted many children to overcome their fear and provide them a learning environment.
On the Global Handwashing Day – 15 Oct the children learnt the importance of proper steps of hand washing.
Similarly, a program on World Toilet Day - 19th Nov was organized by showing a video on importance of toilet. The children made greeting cards and posters to reflect their understand about the toilet.
During the classes we also conduct personal interviews with children and asked their feedback about the program. We found some children have come to the valley after the earthquake.
Yogesh Magar came to Kathmandu after the earthquake. His house collapsed during earthquake and his family migrated for better possibilities (schooling and job). He has found #ASP program a fun. It has provided him with many facilities and also helped him to groove in new environment.
Puja Rai came to the valley after the earthquake for the better school and other facilities. Her village is in #Dhankuta. She comes to the ASP class daily in #Bhuikhel #CommunityCenter along with her sisters Sanjina and Roshina. They love the program very much and find it fun to study at the community centre.
