KMC allocates Rs 20m to build public toilets

The office of Kathmandu Metropolitan City announced a plan to build more public toilets in busy thoroughfares of the capital.

Menstruation is an integral and normal part of human life, indeed of human existence, and menstrual hygiene is fundamental to the dignity and wellbeing of women and girls and an important part of the basic hygiene, sanitation and reproductive health services to which every woman and girl has a right. However, menstruation is a too often a social taboo, which is related to the negative cultural belief in Nepal like: menstruating women are dirty, contaminated, they shouldn't be touched. Many girls drop out of their school because of the cultural restrictions and unavailability of sufficient menstrual needs of women.

सिन्धुपाल्चोक–'तपाईँले अहिलेसम्म किन चर्पी नबनाएको? हेर्नुस् आफ्नो दिसा आफैँ खानु राम्रो होइन। बिलम्ब नगरी आफ्नै र समाजको स्वास्थ्यका लागि चर्पी बनाइ हाल्नुस्। सरसफाइ सभ्यताको प्रतिक हो भन्ने तथ्य नभुल्नुस्।'

वैशाख ५ - २०७१ सालको अन्तिम शनिबार वाग्मती सरसफाइ अभियानको सय साता पूरा भएको उपलक्ष्यमा सुन्दरीजलदेखि चोभारसम्म वाग्मती नदीको दुवै किनारमा मानव साङ्लो बनाएर 'अबदेखि वाग्मती नदी बचाउन आआफ्नो क्षेत्रबाट काम गर्ने र फोहोर नगर्ने' सवा लाख काठमाडौंवासीले कसम खाए ।

फोहोरमा लुकेको मोहोर

चैत्र २२ - नेपालको अर्थतन्त्रमा झन्डै ३५ प्रतिशत योगदान रहेको कृषि क्षेत्र बहुसंख्यक किसानहरूको आर्थिक उपार्जनको महत्त्वपूर्ण माध्यम रहिआएको कुरामा दुईमत छैन । पहाडी तथा हिमाली क्षेत्रमा बीसौं वर्ष अघिको मिश्रति कृषि पशुपालन प्रणाली अझैसम्म सुधारिनसकेको छैन भने तराईमा केही वर्षयता एकल खेती प्रणाली, पशुपन्क्षी पालन, फलफूल र तरकारीजस्ता कृषिवस्तुहरूको व्यावसायिक उत्पादन हुनथालेको छ ।
