Zonta Club of Kathmandu handed over five toilets built unsung Sulabh technology to PashupatiArea Development Trust on Monday.

Feb 21, 2017- Two each of the toilets are meant for men and women, while one is for the people with disabilities.

“Sulabh Sauchalay is one of the most interesting and successful social innovations of modern India. Sulabh International initiated an innovative program based on fabricating a new design for low-cost water-seal toilets. ZontaClub Kathmandu has signed an MoU with Sulabh to use their technology,” the club said in a statement.

Zonta Club of Kathmandu has been working on the advancement of the status of women with the objective to improve the economic, education, health, and issues related to youth and violence against women at the national and local level through service and advocacy, according to the statement.

Zonta Club is represented by 33 members from diverse backgrounds who are social activists, entrepreneurs, doctors, lawyers, architects, business leaders and professionals. Zonta Club Kathmandu Nepal was legally registered as an NGO on May 31, 2013.
