20% health facilities in Nepal has no drinking water and toilet facilities

KATHMANDU - Of the total health facilities across the country, around 20 percent of the health facilities in Nepal lack drinking water facility and toilet for service-seekers, a survey shows.

Missing deadline

The much-awaited Melamchi Drinking Water Project is unlikely to meet its latest deadline of supplying water to the Kathmandu Valley by mid-October this year.

Price of priceless water: Explore market

Interestingly, our ‘real’ spring water must also have better ‘spring water quality’. National policy makers and entrepreneurs should manage and explore the highly concentrated Kathmandu-based so-called water processors to move ahead.

काठमाडौंः उपभोक्ताले सबैभन्दा बढी विश्वास गरेर पिउने जारको पानी पनि दूषित पाइएको छ । जारको पानीमा ९७ प्रतिशतसम्म कोलिफर्म र १० प्रतिशतसम्म फेइकल भेटिएपछि शुद्ध मानिएको जारको पानीसमेत पिउन योग्य नभएको पाइएको हो । ट्यांकरले वितरण गर्ने पानीको स्रोत पनि दूषित भएको र अत्यधिक आइरनका कारण ट्यांकरमा क्लोरिन हाले पनि शुद्ध नभएको पाइएको हो ।
