When blood streamed down her thighs, 11-year-old Shrijana Dutta thought she had cancer. Her thighs and private parts were covered in blood. Frantic, she locked herself in the bathroom and cried all night. It was only when her aunt found her on the bathroom floor the next morning did she find out that she had had her first periods.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The sidewalks surrounding Ahmed Al Barak’s corner market in one of San Francisco’s roughest neighborhoods are filled with cardboard, used syringes and homeless people who have nowhere safe to go at night.But Al Barak says it’s an improvement from a year ago, before the city posted a portable toilet across the street from his business in the city’s Tenderloin district.

Nepal 4th most water stressed in SA

The World Resources Institute’s updated Aqueduct Water Risk Atlas has revealed that Nepal ranks 40th in the list of countries facing water stress in the world.

While the water stress has been categorised as ‘extremely high’ in western Nepal, the stress level is high in mid-western and central regions of the country. The eastern and far-western regions of the country face medium to high water stress, according to WRI.

Trust to install 23 portable toilets on Pashupati premises

In a bid to facilitate pilgrims and visitors, the Pashupati Development Trust has brought 23 portable mobile toilets to operate on its premises.
